Our story
Based in Woudenberg, Netherlands, Stichting Ziektekostenfonds voor Huisdieren was founded around a simple conviction: financial hardship should never decide whether a companion animal receives needed medical treatment. We work to end preventable animal suffering and euthanasia caused by unaffordable veterinary bills.
Our proposed model is inspired by the basic health insurance system for people. By sharing costs fairly across society, essential veterinary care can become a realistic standard of responsible pet ownership.
